Description

Maybach Guitars was founded in 2011 with a commitment to building instruments of the highest quality in Europe across its Standard, Classic, and Masterbuilt production lines.

The Capitol '59 is Maybach's semi-hollow archtop guitar, built in the tradition of the 1959 model year. The thinline body features an arched maple top and back with a centre block for feedback resistance at stage volumes, cream binding, and a nitrocellulose aged lacquer finish in Natural Vintage Amber. The historically correct arching, f-hole shaping, and dual-cutaway body profile closely follow the original 1959 specification.

The mahogany neck is set with a long tenon joint and carries a 1950s vintage profile, paired with an Indian rosewood fingerboard with MOP dot inlays, bone nut, and Wagner medium jumbo fretwire. Radius is 12", nut width 42.8mm, scale length 24.75".

Two Amber Spirit of '59 humbuckers transmit the full resonance of the Capitol's semi-hollow body. USA-made vintage-style pots, a 0.047µF capacitor, and a Switchcraft 3-way toggle provide precise, reliable control. 2 volume / 2 tone. Gotoh tuners.
